To achieve this, our dedicated compliance team plays a crucial role. She oversees every detail, from rigorous control of raw materials to labeling, checking quantities and quality, and meticulously managing transport and storage under optimum conditions. We attach great importance to the cleanliness of our trucks and the integrity of our packaging to guarantee the integrity of our products. What’s more, managing no fewer than 400 different SKUs demands a high level of expertise and flawless organization. Our team also takes samples for in-depth visual checks every time a cork arrives, to maintain our high standards of quality and reliability.

We have set up an innovative and precise operation designed to guarantee the exceptional quality of our corks. Thanks to state-of-the-art optical sorting machines, we are able to efficiently classify and eliminate visual and technical defects. Each cork is meticulously evaluated according to rigorous technical criteria such as density, nature of the cork, lenticels, as well as various potential defects such as worm or ant holes, green cork, size and depth of crevices, and dry veins. Our sorting operators carefully supervise the process to ensure that each cork is sorted according to specific customer requirements and established quality standards. Our ultimate goal is to provide homogeneous selections, thus eliminating the most significant visual defects. Electronic sorting is carried out order by order, following precise sorting instructions, ensuring consistent quality and maximum customer satisfaction.

At Bouchons Trescases, we attach particular importance to the manual sorting of corks, a crucial step in guaranteeing the visual perfection of our products. Our manual sorting operators have in-depth expertise in our range of closures, as well as in-depth knowledge of the various defects that can occur. Thanks to their fine sorting capabilities, they are able to detect and eliminate every single defect with exceptional precision, meeting the specific requirements of each customer. Referring to a reference sample, our operators ensure perfect uniformity in each batch of hand-sorted corks. This sorting method, reserved for top-of-the-range products, can be carried out cap by cap to meet the most stringent standards of certain customers. Hand sorting is one of our company’s historic skills, symbolizing our commitment to excellence and the satisfaction of our most demanding customers.

Sniffing” is an exclusive quality control technique in which each cork destined for large bottles is assessed by an expert nose to detect any potentially undesirable odors, guaranteeing an impeccable wine-tasting experience.

This operation consists in stamping the roll and/or the ends of the corks according to a specific cliché defined by the customer. Marking can be done by laser, fire or ink, depending on preference and specific requirements. Our marking operators are committed to guaranteeing the conformity and quality of the marking, ensuring that it meets the strictest standards and the precise requirements of each customer.

The surface treatment station is essential to ensure a perfect seal and optimal uncorking, while preserving the unique characteristics of cork. Our surface treatment operators play a key role in guaranteeing the quality of our corks, carefully supervising the specific treatments adapted to each type of cork and each type of wine to be bottled. Their expertise enables them to choose the right treatments to ensure optimum preservation of the wines, taking into account the expected shelf life.

Batches of corks are placed in our hygrometry rooms, where conditions are carefully programmed according to the initial hygrometry of the corks and the length of stabulation. This process ensures that each cork reaches optimum hygrometry when packed, thus preserving its quality and performance.

Our team carefully monitors the quality of each cork before final packaging. Each cork is meticulously examined as it passes over a control belt. Any plugs with imperfections resulting from surface treatment operations are immediately removed. This step ensures that only the highest quality closures reach our customers, reflecting our unwavering commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
